We are seeking a creative, detail‑oriented, and culturally grounded full‑time Communications Coordinator to help strengthen the flow of information, storytelling, and community connection during an exciting period of growth for Lyackson First Nation. This role supports the development and delivery of clear, respectful, and engaging communications across multiple platforms; ensuring that members, partners, and the broader community stay informed and connected.

  • Wage: range of $62,000.00-72,000.00/year commensurate with experience and qualifications.

What You’ll Do:

As Communications Coordinator, you will implement and maintain a comprehensive communications plan and ensure timely, accurate, and culturally respectful information flows across all platforms. Responsibilities include:

Communication Strategy & Planning

  • Implement the Nation’s communications plan
  • Maintain a coordinated editorial calendar (website, social media, newsletters, app, email)
  • Support communications for programs, events, and major announcements

Content Development & Storytelling

  • Create compelling written and visual content
  • Share stories that honour Lyackson culture, history, and community voices
  • Prepare clear summaries of Chief & Council meetings and updates
  • Draft speaking notes, event materials, and key messages for leadership

Digital & Media Management

  • Maintain and update the Lyackson website
  • Manage social media channels and the Lyackson App, including content creation and analytics
  • Monitor media coverage and online conversations
  • Ensure consistent brand identity

Community Reporting & Documentation

  • Produce the Annual General Report
  • Support community surveys and digital filing systems for communications materials

Event & Engagement Support

  • Assist with community event communications, logistics, and outreach
  • Support onsite set‑up, displays, and messaging
